Receive the blessings of the gods. Why not come and see? Farm Guest House Ikenoue is located in an area surrounded by shrines that enshrine foot, tooth and ear deities. The owners Hiro chan & Kei chan welcome you. Using kuromame (black soybeans) dedicated at local festivals from generation to generation for more than 100 years, you can make kuromame tofu and kuromame yokan (jellied dessert) together with your hosts, which is also the appeal of this guest house. Ikenoue is the perfect fit for those who want to relax and quiet their souls.

About the accommodations

宿舎01 宿舎02

“Ikenoue” is a settled guest house with a woodburning stove installed in the main house with a history of more than 100 years. Enjoy the slow passage of time while reading, listening to the crackling sounds of firewood burning, or talking with your friends around the table. You may notice something you have forgotten in your busy daily life.

Bath and amenities

浴室・アメニティ01 浴室・アメニティ02

In contrast to the longstanding history of the main house, the bath has been fully renovated with a bright, spacious, and relaxing atmosphere. Amenities for bathing and for getting ready in the morning include a toothbrush, shampoo, body-wash, cleansing foam, and hair dryer.

About the meals

食事01 食事02

Meals in the guest house will not be served. You can cook using prepared ingredients together with the staff of the guest house “Ikenoue” or with just your fellow members as a self-catering menu. Dinner at “Ikenoue” is mainly dishes cooked using black soybeans that are also dedicated to local deities. Hiro chan’s unique menu developed for lodgers, including kuromame tofu and kuromame yokan is every bit as fun to make as it is to savor. Other festive recipes, such as bara-zushi (chirashi-zushi) and inari-zushi (sushi rice in tofu pouches), are also offered.
※Self-catering menu is subject to change depending on the accommodation schedule.
※If you want to know the day’s self-catering menu, make a separate inquiry.

Example activities

【Mystery stroll】

宿舎01

While staying at Farm Guest House “Ikenoue,” it is recommended that you rise early. An eerie mist rises and blankets the entire area turning the grounds into a mysterious space as if walking on clouds. Strolling around the grounds while breathing crystal clear air will give you a feeling of purification.

【Praying】

宿舎01

Since this house is surrounded by deities, such as Ashiosama (foot goddess), Haitajizo (jizo statue for toothaches), and Mimiitajizo (jizo statue for earaches), walk and pray to them. Take your time in worship as visitors are few. So that your prayers may be answered!

【Watching festivals】

宿舎01

If the timing is right, you can participate in a local festival, such as the Kamo Taisai Festival, Kojinsai Festival, Ogionsama, and Marishitensama. As festival-specific events are also held, you will surely have a memorable experience.
